Front Office Assistant
Reports to: Front Office Manager
Work Location: Cedarwood Waldorf School, 3030 SW 2nd Ave, Portland, OR 97201.

Job Description: The Front Office Assistant is the primary contact for parents, guardians, students, staff and visitors to the Front Office when school is in session, thereby providing critical assistance to the overall operations of the Front Office and excellent service to staff and families.
Hours and Schedule: The Front Office Assistant is an hourly employee, working each day school is in session from 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM for no more than 30 hours per week. Additional hours may be included beyond the last day of school and/or during breaks as needs arise. Two 10 minute paid breaks and one 30 minute unpaid lunch are included each day.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Answer phones
- Manage visitor sign in/sign out
- Collect and record daily attendance
- Distribute tardy slips
- Manage deliveries and mail
- Administer minor first aid for students
- Restock office supplies
- Communicate with families regarding any major accidents or head injuries
- Manage medication permissions and distribution
- Pass messages on to staff and students
- Update emergency binders
- Supervise students in the office when necessary
- Receive deliveries and notify teachers of parcel arrivals
- Work on seasonal projects as assigned by the Office Manager
Required and Preferred Skills, Abilities, and Qualifications:
- Ability to pass a background check through Oregon’s Central Background Registry is required, in addition to criminal and sexual misconduct background checks through the Oregon Department of Education.
- Experience with standard office equipment and software is required (Google suite).
- Ability to communicate warmly and effectively in writing and in person is required.
- Support of the school’s efforts around diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice is required.
Physical Requirements:
This job operates in a professional open-floor office environment with a moderate level of noise associated with personal conversations and office machinery. The employee must be able to see, hear and talk and have the physical ability to move around, lift objects up to 40 pounds, and use standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers and filing cabinets. Must be able to use stairs in order to retrieve and return materials to storage locations.
Wage: $26 per hour
Lead Grades Class Teacher - Grade 5 - 2025-26
Cedarwood Waldorf School is seeking a dedicated and inspired Grades Lead Class Teacher to guide a Grade 5 class through a holistic, developmentally appropriate curriculum rooted in Waldorf pedagogy. The Lead Class Teacher carries primary responsibility for the academic, social, and emotional well-being of the students and serves as the central figure in cultivating a healthy and cohesive classroom community.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Waldorf teacher certification required
- Classroom teaching experience, ideally in Waldorf or other developmentally-informed pedagogy.

- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- A commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging in the classroom and school community.
- Enthusiasm for collaborative work and a growth mindset in professional practice.
Compensation and Benefits Salary: $50K-$75K, depending on experience Benefits include health insurance, tuition remission, paid time off, and professional development support.

Early Childhood On Call Substitute Teacher
Position Description
We have a robust, resourceful, and inspiring early childhood program offering parent child classes, two pre-kindergarten classes, and three kindergarten classes. Cedarwood is licensed through the State of Oregon as a Childcare Center and must meet licensing requirements for substitutes.
We are always looking for early childhood substitute teachers. This position is an on-call position and would have a four-hour minimum. School hours are from 8:15am to 3:00pm; before care begins at 7:30am and extended day goes until 5:30pm. There are occasional substitute needs on evenings and weekends. Applicants must be listed in Oregon Central Background Registry and have first aid/CPR certification.

Grades On Call Substitute Teacher

Cedarwood is a comprehensive and creative Waldorf elementary through middle school program that introduces academics in a developmentally thoughtful way. Each student’s imagination is continually nurtured as they develop the capacity to meet the challenges of learning math, language arts, history, geography, science, music, eurythmy, handwork, movement, and two foreign languages, Spanish and Japanese.
