Step back in time and live like a pioneer at Pioneer Camp! Campers will immerse themselves in the lives of early settlers through hands-on activities like basket weaving, sewing, and embroidery. Along the way, they’ll enjoy cooking traditional recipes, listening to stories, singing songs, and learning folk dances. The week culminates in a joyful park celebration with games, handmade ice cream, and a family folk dance that’s sure to delight everyone.

This beloved camp is led by Elaine Schumacher, a longtime Cedarwood parent and community leader. Elaine brings years of experience as a Practical Arts assistant and camp leader, along with a passion for storytelling and traditional crafts. Her warm and engaging teaching style makes Pioneer Camp an unforgettable experience for every child. Join us for a week of creativity, community, and pioneer spirit!

CEDARWOOD CANCELLATION & REFUND POLICY FOR 2025: 

Auxiliary Programs, Break and Summer Camps

Cedarwood will issue a full refund for a program or camp canceled by the school. Any cancellation of a camp by Cedarwood will take place at least two weeks in advance of the camp start date. A camp may be canceled if there are fewer than 10 students enrolled.

Camps may also be canceled due to high heat or poor air quality. In the case of poor air quality due to wildfires, camps will be closed for the day if the air quality is rated 151 or higher (unhealthy) by 6:30 a.m. and there is reason to believe it will remain so for a substantial portion of the day.

Parent Cancellations:

If a parent or guardian cancels 1 month prior to the start date of camp, Cedarwood will issue a 50% refund.

If a parent or guardian cancels 1 week prior to the start date of camp, no refund will be made.

Cedarwood reserves the right to cancel a camp due to low enrollment up to 1 month prior to the camp start date. 

Auxiliary programs may be canceled due to low enrollment after the 2nd week.  Cedarwood will refund 100% of the cost.

If an auxiliary program session is canceled by the teacher, it is up to the discretion of the teacher to reschedule.
